Golf GTI Clubsport awarded 2016’ “Hot Hatch of the Year”

The limited edition Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport has taken home the much sought-after “Hot Hatch of the Year” title from acclaimed magazine, Evo Middle East, following the announcement of their annual “Car of the Year” special edition.

The editorial team behind the magazine, travel worldwide to test cars from affordable hatchbacks to 300 kph Italian supercars.

The 40th anniversary edition of the iconic Golf was reportedly chosen for its combination of superior ride comfort, powerful traction, potent 286 bhp turbocharged direct injection four-cylinder engine, as well as its every day practicality for family and work life.

The Golf GTI Clubsport anniversary model is a stand-out competitor, with a more powerful engine and extensive enhancements to the design, equipment and features aerodynamic fine-tuning. Due to the high-power output and significantly improved downforce, the dynamic performance of the limited-edition model propels it into the domain of top-class motorsport. This results in ground-breaking handling and breath-taking cornering speeds.

Volkswagen exterior designers created a completely new front bumper, side sills, rear diffuser, multi-part roof spoiler and exclusive forged 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels for the model. These features immediately make the anniversary model stand out from the familiar GTI models.
